Greater Lake Tahoe Area- Including the cities of South Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Stateline, and Incline Village
WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PST TUESDAY
WHAT: Heavy snow expected. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 3 feet, except 3 to 6 feet above 7000 feet. Sierra ridge winds are expected to exceed 100 mph with occasional gusts 40 to 50 mph possible in lower elevations.
WHERE: Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
WHEN: Until 10 PM PST Tuesday.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches/hour are expected, with heavier bursts of snow producing snowfall rates of at least 3 inches/hour and whiteout conditions especially during this evening and late tonight. Expect dangerous boating conditions on Lake Tahoe with wave heights of 2 to 5 feet.
IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult to impossible, especially this afternoon and tonight when major trans-Sierra pass closures are possible. Strong winds could cause extensive tree damage in exposed higher and wildfire burn areas.
