Jeff Unverferth (Unit 6) stumbled upon a young black bear Sunday evening looking for a curbside takeout dinner.
From Jeff: “He was checking the top and bottom latches on the Unit 4/5 bear box. Not afraid of humans. I was yelling at him from 50 feet and throwing pine cones and he strolled off down the road to check the porch at Unit 2. Reminder to all owners and guests– double latch all boxes.”
While we’re at it– remember not to leave food in your car, and make sure you lock the doors!
Watch this car burglar bear open the unlocked driver’s door of an SUV parked at Unit 8 while the family was inside the house eating dinner. He shredded the center console because the owner had left a package of chewing gum in it!
They are band idiots for sure. If they get stuck in your car, it’s going to be totaled. Happened to one of my cars in front of unit 39 6 years ago. The bear got into my unlocked car looking for some crackers my kids left. He got in but couldn’t get out. By the time I figure out he was in there there wasn’t anything left of the interior of the car. GEICO totaled it on site.
