A message about snow removal from the HOA

Dear Incline Pines Homeowners,

As Board President, I want you all to know that Board members have been in constant contact with Mark Etcheberry (contracted snow removal service), and IPM (Janet and the owner, Larry) to try to mitigate snow removal issues.

Unfortunately, due to the unprecedented, but forecasted, snow levels they have been greatly hindered in what they can get done and how quickly they can do the work. In order for IPM to clear walkways they need to have a road they are able to drive on. Mark E. has done everything he is able to do to keep roads passable. Sometimes it is not possible for him to clear the roads before the next storm hits. Janet says the IPM crew has been working 12-hour shifts and are not able to do all of Incline Pines in one visit.

While my husband Mark and I found a way to leave the property before the heavier storms, the Board members and I have been able to watch the property via cameras around the property and are monitoring weather stations. I have also been in contact with board member, Ron Rogowski who is in regular contact with Mark E. and Art from IPM. Ron is working hard to get everyone’s needs met but admits he has never seen anything like this in the 25 years he has lived in Incline Pines. Please know that we are all very aware of the issues.

editor’s note: The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning early in the week advising that “travel could be very difficult to impossible”

My family members, as well as other Board members have been on property when we were able to get up there. We unfortunately have no control over the weather and are experiencing heavy rain and wind issues as well as flooding even at lower elevations. Even if we were snowed in up there, we would not be able to do anything more.

It is every homeowner’s responsibility to protect and keep their family and homes safe. The Board is only able to help with outside resources. Please know that we are doing everything in our powers to help keep the community safe.

Many roads as well as the schools in Incline Village have been closed, so please be careful if you do choose to leave the property. Please be prepared for another few storms coming through the area in the next week or so.

In an emergency, please call IPM directly, or 911.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this “rough” winter. If you have any suggestions or are able to help the community, please reach out to the Board or Janet at IPM.

Please attend the January 19 Board meeting via Zoom, so we may brainstorm and discuss how to handle these situations going forward.
